Working Fire-New Rochelle, NY-24 Grammercy Place-4/9/22
#1
I brought my wife to Manhattan to attend a bachelorette party and headed up to get gas on the Bronx/westchester County line (cheapest in the area.)  My plans had been to buff on the west side of Westchester County in Yonkers, as they've been seeing some action recently, while still allowing easy access into the Bronx, who have also been busy.  After getting gas, I turned the radios on and started towards Yonkers.  Within two minutes, New Rochelle put out a call reporting a single 9-1-1 call for a dwelling fire-I put the address into the GPS and found it to be 2.9 miles and 9 minutes away.  I figured there was no way this was an actual job until dispatch updated the companies that the single caller was reporting smoke coming from the building and that they had banged on doors and windows and believed nobody was home.

The first arriving company reported smoke showing from the upper floors of a 2-1/2 story wood frame structure.  Upon his arrival, the I/C transmitted a 10-75, which brought the working fire assignement.  Companies took about an hour to bring this job under control.
