do u have to have a CDL to drive this truck? wasnt sure
Reply

In pa if the truck is reg. as an antique no CDL is needed for any type of truck. You could have a semi truck as long as it has an antique plate no CDL is needed.

With Marc on those Ideas... also take the strobes off... get it looking like she did back in the 70's! Well the best you can!

I like the Aerodynic and the strobes! Fits the time and look when I started running in the mid 80's. It's impossible to get it back to the way it was in 70's. But I will keep it to the 80's.

Friday August 5th I made the trip out to Lower Burrell in Westmoreland County, PA. This was the department that originally ordered my Mack and then had had it refurbed. They invited me to stay at their station and house the Mack there for the weekend. I attended the Western Pa Convention that was hosted by New Kensington which is the Department that I bought my Mack from and also Lower Burrells neighboring Department. It was a about a 4 1/2 hour drive on the PA Turn Pike and $34.00 tolls each way and about a tank and half of fuel, but well worth it. I even came back with the original hard sleeves, barrel strainer, indian tank, P.W. extinguisher, pike pole, some missing caps, cool MSA first aid kit, some foam educters, wheel chock, spanner wrenches, MSA storage box, some missing dry decking and a 5" pony section, some cool pictures of the Mack, blue prints from the refurb at 4 Guys, awesome war stories, some great maintenance tips on the Mack, FD t-shirts, patches and stickers! Can't say enough about the guys and girls at Lower Burrell No. 3 they were all awesome!

Here is my Mack back in it's original house. Next to it is the 2001 Pierce Engine that replaced the Mack.

They even through the tarp on the back that they kept when they sold the Mack to New Kensington.

This is the license plate that I had made. I used a Kenworth mounting bracket and inverted it so that it wouldn't eventually come into contact with pavement.

Four members went along with me from LBVFD to judging. We just finished up and they got banged out for a call, so we went red lights and siren back to their station. Classic!
