I shot Truck 6 at training today sporting their new stars and flag in the grill.

The D-Shifters did it themselves.

Is there a reason for the stars?

Truck 6 is housed with Engine 26 in the Locust Point neighborhood of Baltimore. Locust Point is where Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine is located. Fort McHenry is only a mile away from Truck 6's quarters and both are addressed of of East Fort Avenue. Fort McHenry is famous for the War of 1812 where it defended the Baltimore Harbor (part of the Chesapeake Bay) from the British. It was at Fort McHenry where the Garrison Flag also known as the Star Spangled Banner was flown during this battle. The Star Spangled Banner flying over Fort McHenry inspired Francis Scott Key to write our country's National Anthem "The Star Spangled Banner."

If you notice the flag on the front of Truck 6 has 15 Stars (or would if the Pierce symbol didn't obstruct it from doing so). This flag is supposed to replicate the Star Spangled Flag. In short, it is to represent the history of their first due!
