I guess that is one of the new Taurus police interceptors that replaced Ford's Crown Victoria after 25 or more years. They had a demo in our area during the summer along with the new Explorer or Expedition.

I saw them at the local car wash with my assessment that they might be fast and might have room for prisoner transport but really not much space for equipment in the trunk so the Ford people said "what kind of equipment would the cops be carrying?" They thought I was joking when I told them about the first aid kits, oxygen, defibs, fire extinguishers and of course traffic cones, etc.

I realize for the people who have to work out of them, the Crown Vic will be hard to replace. But as a buff and model builder the Charger, Impala, and Intercepter / Taurus are a nice change from the yet another CV syndrome. While smaller and more jellybean like it is starting to get back to how it was when I first got my license, when you had to know how to ID a Ford Crown Vic, Chevy Caprice or Dodge Diplomat by the headlights. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

I came by the dealer who has the contract and does the installs. The blue and gray are Virginia State Police units.
