KME plant tour

Had a worldwind tour of the KME plant.....sorry no serial numbers or IDs -too much to see....but here are a few shots....



First up KME 79 footer almost ready to go.

This was the chassis for a tandem axle rescue.....

Cab being built. One man essentially builds each cab....gives him some ownership of his work. I think there were about 8 to 12 cabs being welded plus more in the chassis areas.

The two door tandem rescue will be going to the Defense Logistics Agency in York County, PA. As Rescue 69.

I am looking forward to seeing the new Squad for Defense Logistics. The Tower shouldn't be too far behind it either. Gonna be a sharp fleet those boys have!

I hated their new grill when it came out but now I kinda like it......and itll look better when they take the protective tape off....

Here is one of KME's new ladders with the tip controls for the ladder. Thi is new to me-always had controls up there on buckets but had never seen it on a stick. I would think you can throw the stick close to the building from the turntable and then ease it close when youre up at the tip.....

That's the other thing that I don't care for, the rubber fenders. Do you have a closer shot of the grille? Supposedly they were pretty big pushers on keeping the square grille!
