Last year I went to a Clark County Fire Department Open House out at Station 31 and learned that at that time Station 16 was going to be shut down and moved to a new location. It took well over a year for the move to occur but instead of shutting down Station 16 they kept it open and reassigned the Station Number from 16 to Station 61.

Here is old Station 16

The New Station 16 is located at:

6131 E. Washington Ave

Las Vegas, NV

Engine 16

This photo was taken at the open house and shown in the photo is Engine 16 and Truck 61. The new station is designed for three rigs (an engine, truck, and rescue) but for now all that is running out of there is Engine 16. The county website shows both a truck and rescue responding out of there. (Side note on this station. It was built by the same company that built Station 22 but due to the issues that they had with the company the opening was held up for over a year. It ended up in court and due to all of the issues the company that built this station will not longer be allowed to bid on any new County Buildings.)

CLARK COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT

150 N NELLIS BLVD, Clark County NV 89110
STATION 61 (FORMER STATION 16)

ENGINE 61

TRUCK 61

RESCUE 61

STATION 61 DOES NOT SHOW UP ON THE DEPARTMENT WEBSITE AND THE SCUTTLEBUTT THAT I HEARD IS THAT IN THE NEAR FUTURE THEY SHIFT THE COMPANIES AROUND AND TEAR DOWN THE OLD STATION AND REBUILD IT WITH A BIGGER AND MORE MODERN STATION.

Station 22

Station 22 is another station that has been torn down and rebuilt. Like Station 16 it was worn out and to small for the crews. The first photo is of Station 22 while they were in their old quarters on Flamingo between Jones and Rainbow.

This photo I took of Station 22 while it was still being worked on

And this is one that I took last year at the open house on Fire Prevention Saturday 2015.

I was out at CCFD Station 65 this past weekend and this was my second trip out there. The station is beautiful and is part of the Southern Highlands area of town.

Southern Highlands is a planned community and one that has a lot of money. The bell in the photo below was presented as a memorial to all of the firefighters and their families that were lost on 9-11-01
