The Rheems1 Photo Collection
Sweet photos Fritz!!! I never knew you were a member of the Historic Society. Maybe we can shoot a few of those trucks up in PA later this year? I'm still trying to get you a shot of your old Rheems tanker down in TN.

Very interesting... so it is a Kidde product!! Well Kidde has been in the fire service for many years with thier fire extingushers and smoke alarms and such.... this seems like a neat system although I am not sure how practical it all is... but it could serve a wonderful function under the right circumstances. Thank you for sharing that information Kurt!!

Andrew,

You are more than welcome to come up whenever you want, I had a GREAT time when you came up the last time and would love to do it again. If you give me some notice, I will make sure the Historic Society is open and ready for you to come up and visit (I am a member but don't have a key or the code for the alarm). If you want a county of color... than Schuylkill is a good place to go!! I don't know anyone up there but we could potluck a day and make a heck of a time out of it... there are about 112 firehouses in Schuylkill County and each one of them is special in one way or another!! Just let me know when you want to come up... as a matter of fact to save you some money you can bunk in at our firehouse if you would like!!

It was designed mainly as to get around a broken water main. 12,000 gpm, $800,000, NJ has five (5) of them 'just in case'

Here are pix from when it was demo'd three years ago at Elizabeth NJ. It's all hydraulic.

Did they have to take you to the hospital after you saw this Hamerly? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hysterical' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ambulance.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Ambulance' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stretcher.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stretcher' />

You are too funny Jay!! Actually I have seen this piece many times, I have been friends with Rick for many years and remember when they bought this from Tarentum and repainted it. It replaced a 1980's Ford F-350/? former ambulance that was way, way overweight. Poor Rick has been looking for Hamerly logo plate for the front of this truck since they bought it, I actually happen to have a logo plate... but I don't have a spare one. That makes ME the king Hamerly wacknut!! LOL

I am going to stop posting pictures for right now, I am sure that EMS12 will continue posting the rest of the pictures in his topic. I wanted to stop with this piece because it is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) pieces out there that I have photographed... I love these Ford Cargo chassis when used in the fire service!!
