1993 Freightliner FL70/Local/2005 Chief's Fire & Rescue
This truck has an interesting history. According to the retired fire chief, the chassis started out as an engine. In the early 2000s, Sophia wanted to get a new rescue but could not afford to do so. Instead, the fire chief fabricated this body then had Chief's Fire & Rescue in Jefferson,NC mount the body onto the chassis. The body itself looks very close to a 3-D Metals, which Chief's used to sell. Chief's also "borrowed" the 3-D design and made their own bodies before closing down in 2005.
Andrew Messer and I were unable to verify if the former fire chief did indeed manufacture this body or if Chief's had some hand in it as well.
