Just prior to a meeting, I drove by the Point Pleasant, WV fire station and caught this group photo. Sorry, no other additional information because I was short on time.

Leaving Point Pleasant I came across the Valley VFD in Apple Grove, West Virginia. The Valley VFD is in Mason County, not real far from the West Virginia and Ohio state line.

The guys there were also great and were happy to move their apparatus around for photos.

Engine 23 at Valley is this 1998 Ford F350/1976 Pierce 300/300. No Pierce plate on this so I could not find a job number.

The Valley VFD is hoping to obtain some grant money in order to replace their existing tanker.

I need some help from our military truck experts. Is this a Kaiser, American Motors, etc.?

Valley VFD received this truck from the West Virginia Department of Forestry and painted it to their colors. The plans are to convert it to a brush unit and specialty piece.

Year built - 1995

Down the road from Apple Grove (Valley VFD) is Lesage, WV. This was this a fun stop at the end of a day. The Ohio River Road VFD operates from Lesage and they are one of those stations that has a variety of equipment purchased used from other departments (except for one truck).

Rescue 616 from Ohio River Road is this 1977 Ford C9000/Swab that once saw service in Mt. Kisco, NY. There is a bit of rust appearing on the squad and the FD will be looking at replacing it at some point.

The big white phone in the cab of Rescue 616 is so that the crew in the front can talk to the crew in the back box.

By the way, the Swab serial number is 3502.

Engine 608 at the Ohio River Road VFD has a couple of dates on the Sutphen label in the cab.

They do like their Sutphens at Ohio River Road VFD.

Engine 607 is a 1988 Sutphen 1500/750 that came from the Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport in Texas. It has two foam tanks, but neither is used. It carries serial number HS-2186.

Quite a distance away from Valley VFD and Ohio River Road VFD is the Lewisburg, WV. Lewisburg is not far from the West Virginia and Virginia state line, near Covington, Virginia.

I have been going to Lewisburg a variety of times for business but always with rain. With some special arrangements from the Chief at Lewisburg, I was able to visit both of their stations and photograph all of their apparatus. The day started out great but I was rushing to beat some heavy clouds coming into the area.

The downtown station houses three trucks. First up is Engine 2011.

Streets are tight in the downtown area which makes driving difficult. Lewisburg has a variety of shops and businesses, and plenty of cars parking on the streets which makes driving even more challenging.

We took two of the apparatus from downtown at a elementary school in Lewisburg.

Finishing off the apparatus at the downtown station is Utility 2026, a 1994 FOrd F350/Stahl. It assists with brush fires and carries plenty of traffic cones and signs in the back.
