As a side note, Warrenton is trying to set the Guinness Book of Records for the largest fire engine parade on September 28. Apparently, the current record is 221 engines. If anyone is interested, let me know as I will be there hopefully.
There's no way that 221 is a record, Ocean City, Maryland gets at least that on a slow year for the annual convention which turns out to be about a 2 hour parade. I'm sure that the annual Apple Blossom Parade in Winchester, Va. beats them numbers every year also. The price of fuel nowadays really has an impact on the turnout of the event, but if they are going to beat a Guinness Book of Records for a fire engine parade, it would be a great parade to attend, whatever the number is.!!!

It's entirely possible that there are larger parades at other venues but from what I was reading the key phrase is engines; brush trucks, ladders, "wet" rescues, pickups, chiefs cars, etc. will not go towards the record.

Not to mention, 221 could absolutely be the record, because "officially" 221 is what's been recorded; unless Guinness were to chase around every other parade during the year to see if the number was beat. You have to remember, you have to enter to set or beat a record, you can't just say you did it, and Guinness isn't going to just follow you around looking to see who beat whose record.
