Members may have noticed a change to the front page of the website. The format has removed several non-performing Categories, and gone back to a much more basic layout. One that is much more representative of the function that the Firepics.net website was originally designed for. I moved the member perks (apparel, chatroom, databases) toward the bottom of the page, removed things such as the Incident Notification System (which will be shut down on January 1st), the now defunct contests category, Fire Review.net and the live audio.

Moving forward, I hope to build out some of the areas of the website that are currently not seeing as much utilization as they could. The Apparatus, Manufacturer and Department Scuttlebut Forums could see a lot more use. I know the information is out there, it's just figuring out how to get it here first that's the challenge.

Back to basics is the game plan, hopefully, the coming year will be one of the best for Firepics.

Where exactly is the issue? If you're starting a topic, there is a section at the bottom called "Attach Files". Once you have chosen your file, click on "Attach this File" and it's done. If you're replying to a topic, click on the "More Reply Options" button, and the "Attach Files" section will appear.

Of course, your image cannot be larger than 200Kb per the posting guidelines.....if it is larger, you will have to resize it in an editing program before you upload. There are too many editing programs to make a tutorial for, so if this is the issue, I suggest posting a specific question in the "Photography Discussion" forum, and hopefully someone using the same software can help you out.

Thanks much Ed for the changes. A lot to be said for "back to the basics" approach to things.

The other thing that seems to have gone by the wayside is the Saturday night chats. I really would like to get those going again, as it was a fun time every week.
