It has been brought to my attention that there has been a lot of griping and speculation going on over on the Yahoo Group "Firepics" that started just after the software upgrade was installed. Some of that speculation indicated that "anyone who bought more than a one year subscription has sucker tattooed on their forehead". I am making this public statement that I have before:

If there is something wrong with the board, or if there is ANYTHING you don't like about the board, let me know and i'll be happy to refund your money

I don't know how to say it any clearer. It is not my intention to steal people's money, and if the site ever does go under, I GUARANTEE that I will pay back every active subscription as of the last operating day of the site.

Ed;
Nice job on the work you and others have done here. I have no problem with my 10 year subscription.

However, save yourself the aggravation of trying to mail ANY refund back to me. Buy yourself a beer or 3 on me, or donate it to a FD or PD charity should this site fold up. You won't break my bank so relax.

As for those who think we are 'suckers' for paying on this site, which IMO is one of the best sites regarding fire apparatus:

You are probably a bunch of cheap mother******s who won't splurge on $2 a year. JMO.

Stay safe. Brothers.

I'm hoping nobody takes this post as a statement that the board is going under. I made a promise last year that the site was not going to go anywhere, and nothing short of death will keep me from keeping that promise as long as I am the owner of the site.

We may not always agree, ed. Aside from that I just want to say thank you for running this site. There's more fire and buff activity here than anywhere else on the net.

I'm one of those stuck in the past and abhor change of any kind. My big mouth goes into gear when change disturbs a comfortable position. I just need to learn the board and will eventually "get it".

This site has been a great distraction during this time of unemployment for me. Sharing my collection on firepics is very enjoyable and I hope to continue.

Please keep up the good work.

Scott

Scott,

Not directed at you or anyone that has an issue or issues with the inevitable growing pains that come with a software upgrade. More at the people that think I have stolen ownership of the board from someone else, and don't like the way I run it.

Ed,

I'm with smketrfdny on this one...if for any reason whatsoever you do need to fold this site, take my subscription and either get yourself some liquid stress relief or donate to any one of the various FF/EMS charities or scholarships out there. I'm new here still but hey, it taes ALOT of work and aggravation to make a site like this work, and so what if it has a glitch now and then, shit happens.

And as far as the butt-nuggets who have nothing better to do than gripe and bitch about how you run this site, just remember they're probably the same ones who sit around the station and contribute very little but opinions to any task or changes and will always find fault with something rather than step-up and offer to help out. They wanna go, let 'em!

Tommy

Personally, I don't always agree with Ed either. However he runs a great site and does it dirt cheap! If I had to give my opinion I think he is a fool for operating a board like this and taking all the grief he takes for stuff, all for $2.00 freakin bucks a year. This should be no less than 24.00 per year an maybe 36.00 a yr...
While this all may be a hobby, these operations require much work and money to keep them up.. I like probably most here are not interested in doing what Ed does and I for one am glad to pay for my memebership. In fact I paid for 5 yrs and if something happens to Ed like going to jail for taking out his frustration :-) on one of us for bitching, he can keep my money too. It is such a small price to pay for such a great site.

I have been reading the comments on the other site. While I agree with some I disagree with others and those discusuing it shouldn't do it in public forum. That to me has no class!!

Thanks Ed... I appreciate your work.. Next time your are in Detroit call me and I'll buy you a beer or two and maybe a dinner too!

Garry

I don't usually say much, but I do not see anything like this site anywhere else let alone the complainers running a site like this. I for one post pretty many photos, I have not checked very far into the whiners but I doubt they are frequent photo posters' just complainer posters'. I'm done off to King of Prussia Saturday.
