As of 21:10 hrs EDT, the board software has been upgraded from version 2.3.6 to version 3.0.3. I waited until they worked out the bugs in the software before upgrading, as I didn't want to deal with any of the issues that invariably arise from a completely new version. Other than some visual changes that I'm sure not everyone will agree with, there shouldn't be much difference to the end user, and any that are there should only be improvements. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you run into any issues.
Hey Ed,
Good job with the upgrade. One of the sites I work on also is using the new update and are going through some tweeking. So far we have had good luck with the new platform.
The only thing I can see right now is that the "quote box" is not showing around a person's reply to a specific post is not showing up to differentiate between the original and the reply. I tried it here and I am seeing it in this thread but not on others for some reason.
I'll keep an eye out for you on issues as well.

Mark,
If you bring up any of the forums it's there, I don't see it under the "View New Content" link, but the arrow on the left side of that screen will take you to the last post, which should be pretty close to where you want to start. I'll recommend it in my bugfix report.
-----UPDATE-----
It appears that once you have been on the board, and the software doesn't view you as not having read anything, Clicking on the Topic Title when you use the "View New Content" link will take you directly to the first unread post.

It looks like the skin rebuilder missed the quote tags when it went through......I'm not sure if this is a big enough problem to do another skin rebuild, as I'm afraid of what it would do on a second pass. Since it's working for anything active, I don't think I'm going to touch it.

Ed, I don't know if it's me or what but my pages are all kinds of screwed up!!! Some pages are loading with HUGE blank spaces between replies. Some replies are printing top to bottom instead of left to right
kind
of
like
I'm
doing
now.
Where am I looking for the "View Newest Posts" link?
Thanks, Ed.

You need to get with the vendor and advise them they have a few more "bugs" to work out.The replies when I view(most, not all) are all on the left border, making the reply 6 inches or more long, rather than a more normal 1-1 1/2. Pics are not showing up.

1) What browser are you using, and does the problem persist if you use another browser?
2) What Operating System are you using?
3) Which threads are the problems occurring in?
I delayed implementation of this software (which was released in June)until I saw no more major bug complaints being made. I guess we're going to endear Firepics to the software engineers at Invision by providing them with a lot of job security.

ditto where is the unread posts button? in relics I;m starting on page 1.
Look in the upper right corner of each page, under the search box, which is under your screenname. It's titled "View New Content"

1~IE8 and Maxthon..... On both browsers.OK, I'm not seeing any of these problems. To let Invision know what the issues are, I'm going to need some information:
1) What browser are you using, and does the problem persist if you use another browser?
2) What Operating System are you using?
3) Which threads are the problems occurring in?

2~~ XP Pro
3~~ All threads
Thanks!

For those having access problems and long load times, Clearing the cache on your browser should alleviate the problem for most:
http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahic.html
Follow the instructions for your particular browser, and then DO IT AGAIN right away. For some reason, a lot of the issues people were having were fixed by this repetition.
After clearing the cache, go to the main page of the site and do a "hard refresh" CTRL + F5 on a PC or CTRL + R on a Mac

As before, please bear with me and continue to report any problems.

Locks up on main page or has formatting issues:
IE 5, IE 6, IE 7, AOL (which is just IE anyway), Maxthon
Works without any issues:
IE 8, Firefox 3.5 (my preference), Safari, Google Chrome.
Apparrently, the older browsers aren't able to keep up with modern coding techniques, and lock up on the code. Any of the new browsers should work for you and alleviate the problems.
I'll be sending this out via bulk email as well, as it's kind of useless for it to be here, since the people affected probably can't get to this forum.

it works for me on firefox not on IE7. I will try to download IE8, but at least I can get on somehow. yesterday was a long day without my firepics!
thanks to Ed for all his time and hard work he put into this!
I'll second that Mike, don't realize how much you miss something until it's not there, and boy it was hard not having Firepics to look at to pass the time at work!!! Thanks for everything you do Ed!!!
