Posting follows the following rules:
Images must not be larger than 200K.
Firepics.net is a site for the enjoyment of those interested in the fire service. It is designed as a "buff" site, and because of this, no discussion of fireground tactics is allowed.
Any initial post in the "Photos" category (Apparatus, Fire Scene, Line Art & Other drawings, Everything Else and Other Emergency Vehicles) MUST contain an image in the initial post. If you are looking for a specific photo, and cannot start the thread with an image, please use the "Photo Requests" Forum. Replys to the request with photos will be made in the appropriate category. Links to images ARE NOT an acceptable alternative to an image.
Posting of an image to Firepics.net indicates that you are the photographer, or that you have appropriate copyright permissions to distribute that image on the internet. If you are posting an image from a collection, and the photographer is unknown, please use the phrase "Photographer Unknown", as opposed to "Credits to Photographer", as there are legal ramifications that are associated with the latter term.
DEFINITION: A collection is defined as an accumulation of photographs that have either been paid for or bequeathed to the owner. Surfing the web and saving images to your hard drive is not a collection, it is theft.
GRAPHIC IMAGES: Effective 1/1/2008, no images or series of images that convey injuries sustained by victims that also include information that could identify the victim (face, address, license plate, etc) may be posted to the site. Discretion should also be used when posting other images that do not have identifying info, but still contain graphic content with regards to injuries, as not all members of the site work in the field, and may not be prepared to see them
Effective 7/21/07, No member is allowed to copy/paste articles from other websites to Firepics.net
Effective 9/2/08, All posts in the Fire Scene category must have the date and address of the incident (City at a minimum) included in the title.
Images posted in the "Line Art and Other Drawings" forum that are built upon the work of another artist should contain a credit to the original artist.
If you find an image posted that is yours without proper credit given, please use the "Report Post" button to bring the matter to the attention of the moderators. Please do not take matters into your own hands and make the matter public in a forum, as this will be considered as flaming, and appropriate warning actions will be taken against you.
Flaming of any member, or public criticism of board rules will not be tolerated, and appropriate warning actions, including suspension and removal from the board will be taken.
TTT, Tap to top, or any other post containing no or irrelevant info designed to keep a post appearing at the top of the forum list is not allowed.

3rd violation (within 30 days of 2nd violation) 1 point increase and 2 day suspension
4th violation (within 30 days of 3rd violation) 1 point increase and 5 day suspension
5th violation (within 30 days of 4th violation) 1 point increase and 10 day suspension
6th violation (within 30 days of 5th violation) Removal from board with no refund
